For our clientele who are sensitive to hair removal using wax,
the Hair Trap is proud to present our newest service, hair removal via threading!
Reasons you may prefer threading over waxing:
- naturally extra sensitive skin
- hair can be removed in straight lines
- more precise hair removal compared to waxing
- too much waxing
- an occasional break from waxing
- not so successful wax-at-home-kit experience
- traumatic friend/roommate/relative waxing
- traumatic experience or complications from waxing at a discount salon
- get enough pain at home/work, don't need any added pain
- cultural traditions
- use of Renova or Retina-A (Tretinoin) to treat acne
- use of Renova or Retina-A to treat keratosis pilaris
- use of Renova or Retina-A (or other) to treat acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL)
- use of Dexacort (Dexamethasone) for a number of conditions including:
- rheumatoid arthritis
- after dental surgery
- plantar faasciitis
- counteract allergic shock
- present in certain eye drops, nasal spray
- chemotherapy
- med use for multiple myeloma
- med use for tumors compressing the spinal cord
- med use for brain tumors
- med use for congenital adrenal hyperplasia for pregnant women
- med use for maturation of fetus' lungs for at-risk women of delivering prematurely
- med use for high altitude cerebral edema
- med use for high altitude pulmonary edema
- med use for mountain climbing to deal with altitude sickness
usually or in some cases often/always have a side effect of thinning skin,
easily bruised skin or increased skin sensitivity. In these and other cases
waxing is contra-indicated. For some of the medications described side effects,
and for all of the conditions or situations listed above, our clients may prefer
to use THREADING for hair removal.
